EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (as on 17/03/2025):
A. (i) BSc (Hons) Nursing/BSc Nursing/BSc (Post-Certificate)/Post-Basic BSc Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing council recognized Institute or University.
(ii) Registered as Nurses & Midwife with State/Indian Nursing Council.

OR,

B. (i) Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing council recognized Institute/ Board or Council.
(ii) Registered as Nurses & Midwife in State/Indian Nursing Council.
(iii) Two Years Experience in a minimum 50 bedded Hospital after acquiring the educational qualification.

AGE LIMIT (as on 17/03/2025):
• Minimum:
18 years
• Maximum: 30 years
• Age relaxation will be given to:
(i) OBC-NCL: 03 years
(ii) SC/ST: 05 years
(iii) PwBD: 10 years (13 years for OBC, 15 years for SC/ST)
(iv) Ex-servicemen: 03 years (after deduction of military service)
(v) Central Civilian Employees: 05 years (08 years for OBC, 10 years for SC/ST)

SALARY:
• Pay Level: level-7
• Pay Band: 9300-34800
• Grade Pay: 4600
• Basic Pay: ₹44,900
• Dearness Allowance: 53%
• House Rent Allowance (X-city): 30%
• Travelling Allowance(X-city): ₹3600 + DA (53%)
• Deductions: NPS, Professional Tax, etc.
• Gross Salary: ₹88,000 approx.
• NET (In-hand) Salary: ₹75,500 approx.

SELECTION PROCESS:
NORCET examination will be conducted in two successive stages as described below:
(i) Stage-I: NORCET Preliminary Exam
(ii) Stage-II: NORCET Main Exam

STAGE-I: NORCET PRELIMINARY EXAM:
In this stage, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will be asked from the following subjects:
(i) General Knowledge & Aptitude: 20 questions
(ii) Syllabus of Nursing Courses: 80 questions
• TOTAL: 100 questions (100 marks)
• Each question will have four options.
• These 100 questions will be divided into five sections, each containing 20 questions and 18 minutes.
• TOTAL TIME: 90 minutes
• Negative Marking: One-third (1/3rd)
• This Prelims Stage will be only qualifying in nature, used for shortlisting for Mains Stage, but not counted in Final Merit.
• Minimum qualifying marks (percentile): 50 percentile (45 for OBC, 40 for SC/ST).
• Number of Candidates called for Mains Stage: 05 (Five) Times the vacancy.

STAGE-II: NORCET MAIN EXAM:
(i) The duration of the examination shall be 180 minutes.
(ii) There will be 160 MCQs of 160 marks.
(iii) Each MCQ will have four alternatives.
(iv) Syllabus: Entire syllabus of Nursing courses, focused towards case scenario-based questions for testing nursing skills competency.
(iv) Negative Marking: One-third (1/3rd).
(v) The question paper will be divided in 4 sections of 45 minutes each containing 40 questions.
(vi) Minimum qualifying marks (percentage): 50% (45 for OBC, 40 for SC/ST).

FINAL SELECTION:
• After the conclusion of Stage-II Main Exam, qualified candidates will be asked to give choice preferences of the institutes.
• Final Selection will be done on the basis of marks scored in the Stage-II Main Exam and the choice preferences given by the candidate.
