VACANCY:
A total of 53 posts have been notified, which is distributed as follows:
(i) General: 18 posts
(ii) EWS: 05 posts
(iii) SC: 10 posts
(iv) ST: 01 post
(v) EBC: 11 posts
(vi) BC: 06 posts
(vii) BC-Female: 02 posts

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (as on 05/03/2025):
Intermediate/12th passed in Science Stream (PCM/PCB) from any recognised board.

AGE LIMIT (as on 01/08/2024):
• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 37 years
• Age relaxation will be given to:
(i) Unreserved Female/BC/EBC: 03 years
(ii) SC/ST: 05 years
(iii) Ex-servicemen: 3 years (after deducting no. of years of military service)
(iv) PwBD: 10 years

Are Other State Candidates Eligible?
Yes candidates from other states are also eligible for this exam. But they will not get the benefits of reservation, and will be considered as a General/UR candidate.

JOB PROFILE OF INSECT COLLECTOR:
1. Finding and collecting insects for scientific study.
2. Installing and handling the vector sampling devices (light traps, Prokopak, Aspirator etc.)
3. Sweep foliage to dislodge insects.
4. Identify and sort collected insects.
5. Maintain and care for insect collections.
6. Transport specimens to a laboratory.
7. Maintain records and enter data into a register/computer.

SALARY:
• Pay Level: level-1
• Pay Band: 5200-20200
• Grade Pay: 1800
• Basic Pay: ₹18,000
• Dearness Allowance: 53%
• Other Allowances: TA, HRA, etc.
• Deductions: NPS, Insurance, etc.
• Gross Salary: ₹30,000 approx.
• NET (In-hand) Salary: ₹26,800 approx.

SELECTION PROCESS:
• Selection to the service will be done on the basis of a written examination (single stage).
• It will have questions from the following subjects:
(i) Biology (12th level): 50 questions
(ii) PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Maths): 50 questions
• TOTAL: 100 questions
• Each question is of +1 marks.
• TOTAL MARKS: 100 marks
• Negative Marking: One-fourth (-0.25 marks)
• Qualifying Marks: 40% (36.5% for BC/EBC, 34% for SC/ST, and 32% for PwBD)
