Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has released notification of State Services Examination (SSE) 2025, for recruitment of Group-B Gazetted Officers and Group-C Subordinate Officers in various departments of Madhya Pradesh. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a UGC/AICTE recognized university/institute.

NOTE: Appearing/Final Year Candidates can also apply. But you will have to submit details of passing Graduation & provisional degree in Mains Application Form (filled before Main Exam).

AGE LIMIT (as on 01.01.2025):
• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 33 years (for Uniformed Service)
• Maximum Age: 40 years (for Non-Uniformed Service)
• The upper age limit will be relaxed as under:
1. SC/ST/OBC-NCL: 05 years
2. Physically Handicapped: 05 years
3. Female Candidates of MP: 05 years
4. State Government Employees of MP: 05 years
5. Ex-Serviceman/ECOs/SSCOs: Three (3) years + Period of service rendered in the Army.

PHYSICAL STANDARD:
• For posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Commercial Tax (Excise) Inspector, and Uniformed posts of Jail Department & Transport Department.
• Height:
(i) For Male: minimum 168 cm
(ii) For Female: minimum 155 cm
• Chest (only for Male):
(i) Unexpanded: minimum 84 cm
(ii) Expanded: minimum 89 cm

SALARY:
1. For posts of Pay Level-12:
(i) Deputy District Magistrate (DDM)
(ii) Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)
(iii) Commercial Tax Officer
(iv) Madhya Pradesh Financial Service
(v) Chief Municipal Officer Category B
(vi) Assistant Director (Industry)/Manager
(vii) Assistant Coordinator
(viii) Assistant Welfare Commissioner

• Pay level: level-12 (Madhya Pradesh Pay Matrix)
• Grade Pay: 5400
• Pay Scale: ₹56,100 - 1,77,500
• Basic Pay: ₹56,100
• Dearness Allowance (DA): 50%
• Other Allowances: TA, HRA, Medical, etc
• Deduction: NPS, Income Tax, State Insurance, etc
• Gross Salary: ₹92,000 approx.
• NET (In-hand) salary: ₹77,500 approx.

2. For Posts of Pay Level-10:
(i) Additional Assistant Development Commissioner (Chief Executive Officer, Janpad Panchayat)

• Pay level: level-10 (Madhya Pradesh Pay Matrix)
• Grade Pay: 4200
• Pay Scale: ₹42,700 - 1,35,100
• Basic Pay: ₹42,700
• Dearness Allowance (DA): 50%
• Other Allowances: TA, HRA, Medical, etc
• Deduction: NPS, Income Tax, State Insurance, etc
• Gross Salary: ₹68,000 approx.
• NET (In-hand) salary: ₹58,500 approx.

3. For Posts of Pay Level-9:
(i) Naib Tehsildar
(ii) Co-operative Inspector/Co-operative Extension Officer
(iii) Block Development Officer
(iv) Child Development Project Officer
(v) Block Women Empowerment Officer
(vi) Commercial Tax Inspector
(vii) Chief Municipal Officer
(viii) Junior Account Officer (MPPSC)
(ix) Madhya Pradesh Subordinate Accounts Service

• Pay level: level-9 (Madhya Pradesh Pay Matrix)
• Grade Pay: 3600
• Pay Scale: ₹36,200 - 1,14,800
• Basic Pay: ₹36,200
• Dearness Allowance (DA): 50%
• Other Allowances: TA, HRA, Medical, etc
• Deduction: NPS, Income Tax, State Insurance, etc
• Gross Salary: ₹60,000 approx.
• NET (In-hand) salary: ₹52,000 approx.

PROBATION PERIOD:
The probation period of Group-B (Gazetted) & Group-C (Subordinate) Officers is of 2 years, and after its completion, they are confirmed in the service.

Are Other State Candidates Eligible?
Yes other state candidates are also eligible. But, they will be considered as a General/Unreserved Candidate, and will not get the benefits of reservation & age relaxation.

SELECTION PROCESS:
Selection to the services takes place in three stages:
A. Stage-I: Preliminary Examination
B. Stage-II: Main Examination
C. Stage-III: Personality Test/Interview

A. STAGE-I: PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
• In this exam, there will be two papers:
1. General Studies: 100 questions - 200 marks
2. General Aptitude Test: 100 questions - 200 marks

• Type of Paper: Objective (MCQ-type)
• Marks for each correct answer: +2 marks
• Time for each paper: 2 hours (120 minutes)
• No Negative Marking
• "General Aptitude Test" is of qualifying nature.
• Qualifying Marks: 33%
• Shortlisting for Mains will be done on the basis of marks scored in the "General Studies" Paper.
• Ratio for shortlisting for the Main Exam: 1:15 (15 times the vacancy)

B. STAGE-II: MAIN EXAMINATION
In this exam, there will be six papers:
1. General Hindi: 200 marks
2. Hindi Essay: 100 marks
3. General Studies I: 300 marks
4. General Studies II: 300 marks
5. General Studies III: 300 marks
6. General Studies IV: 200 marks

• Type of Paper: Essay/Descriptive type
• Total: 1400 marks
• Duration of each paper: 3 hours
• Ratio of shortlisting for the Interview: 1:3 (3 times the vacancy).

C. STAGE-III: PERSONALITY TEST/INTERVIEW
• In this stage, your personality and knowledge will be tested, to see whether you're fit for the service or not.
• It will be of 175 marks.

FINAL SELECTION:
Final Selection will be done from the merit list prepared on the basis of marks scored in Mains Exam and the Interview. The candidates higher in merit will be selected for the service.
For preparing the final merit list, 1400 marks of Mains Exam and 175 marks of the Interview will be added.
So, Total Marks in the Final Merit = 1400 + 175 = 1575 marks.
