VACANCY:
A total of 16 posts have been notified, which is distributed as follows:
(i) UR/General: 05 vacancies
(ii) SC: 05 vacancies
(iii) ST: 06 vacancies

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (as on 10/01/2025):
(i) Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) in Any Recognized University in India, AND,
(ii) Continuous 7 Years Advocate Practice.

AGE LIMIT (as on 01/01/2024):
• Minimum: 35 years
• Maximum: 45 years

SALARY:
• Pay level: J-5 (2nd National Judicial Pay Matrix)
• Pay Scale: ₹1,44,840-1,94,660
• Basic Pay: ₹1,44,840
• Dearness Allowance (DA): 53%
• Travelling Allowance (if no official vehicle allotted): ₹15750 + DA (53%)
• Gross Salary (excluding HRA): ₹2,50,000 approx.
• Deductions: NPS, Income Tax, Professional Tax, etc
• Net in-hand salary (excluding HRA): ₹1,90,000 approx.
(HRA of 30% will be given only in case quarters are not available)
SELECTION PROCESS:
Selection to the Delhi Higher Judicial Service (HJS) will be done in three stages:
A. Preliminary Exam (Objective)
B. Mains Exam (Written)
C. Viva-Voce/Interview.

A. Preliminary Exam (Objective):
• Subjects: General Knowledge, English Language, Current Affairs and Questions related to Laws & Acts.
• Total: 150 Objective MCQs.
• Total Marks: 150 marks
• Total Time: 2 hours
• Negative Marking: One-fourth (-0.25 marks).
• Based on the performance in this test, the appropriate number of candidates will be shortlisted for the Mains Exam.

B. Mains Exam (Written):
In this stage, there will be four papers:
(i) General Knowledge & Language: 150 marks - 2 hours
(ii) Law-I: 200 marks - 3 hours
(iii) Law-II: 200 marks - 3 hours
(iv) Law-III: 200 marks - 3 hours
• Total Marks: 750 marks
• Based on the performance in this test, the appropriate number of candidates will be shortlisted for the Viva-Voce/Interview.

C. Viva-Voce/Interview:
• This stage will be of 250 marks.
• Qualifying Marks: 50% (45% for reserved categories).
• Those who are selected for Viva-Voce will have to produce a “No Objection Certificate” from the employer at the time of the interview.

FINAL SELECTION:
Final Selection will be done on the basis of marks scored in both Mains Exam (Written) and Interview (Viva-Voce).
