EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (as on 31/01/2025):
(i) Bachelor Degree in any stream from any UGC recognized university, AND,
(ii) Knowledge of Computer Applications.
AGE LIMIT (as on 31/01/2025):
• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 30 years
• Relaxation in the upper age limit will be given to:
(i) OBC-NCL (Central List): 03 years
(ii) SC/ST: 05 years
(iii) Physically Handicapped (UR/EWS): 10 years
(iv) Physically Handicapped (OBC-NCL): 13 years
(v) Physically Handicapped (SC/ST): 15 years
(vi) Women: 10 years
(vii) Ex-servicemen: 03 years after deduction of military service
(viii) Regular Employees of CBSE: No age limit
SALARY of CBSE Superintendent:
• Pay level: level-6
• Pay Scale: ₹35,400-1,12,400
• Basic Pay: ₹35,400
• Dearness Allowance (DA): 53%
• Travelling Allowance (Y-city): ₹1800 + DA (53%)
• House Rent Allowance (Y-city): 20%
• Gross Salary: ₹65,000 approx.
• Deductions: NPS, Income Tax, Professional Tax, etc
• Net in-hand salary: ₹56,500 approx.
JOB PROFILE of CBSE Superintendent:
1. Performing duties related to distribution and monitoring of work among the staff of the assigned Section.
2. Scrutinizing the work of the staffs.
3. Submitting the case to the appropriate higher officer.
4. Maintaining order and discipline in the Section.
5. Monitoring the reconciliation of the accounts from the treasury and the banks.
6. Disposing off the files within three working days of its receipt.
7. Performing any other duties given by the superior officers.
8. The Senior and Junior Assistants are accountable to the Superintendent of the office.
PROMOTION of CBSE Superintendent:
A Superintendent gets its first promotion after a minimum of 4 years of service. His promotion takes place in the following order:
1. Section Officer (level-7): After a minimum of 4 years continuous service as a Superintendent.
2. Assistant Secretary (level-10): After a minimum of 5 years continuous service as a Section Officer. This can take even more time, and generally everyone retires at this rank, except a few (who joined at an early age).
3. Deputy Secretary (level-12): After a minimum of 5 years continuous service as an Assistant Secretary.
• Promotions can take even more time than the minimum criteria. So, generally a Superintendent retires as an Assistant Secretary, and some early joiners may get a chance to retire as a Deputy Secretary.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Selection Process takes place in two stages:
A. Tier-1: Objective (MCQ) type (OMR Based) Examination
B. Tier-2: Objective type (OMR Based) & Descriptive (Written) Examination
C. Tier-3: Skill/Trade Test
A. Tier-1: Objective (MCQ) type (OMR Based) Examination:
(i) Part-I: General Awareness & Current Affairs: 30 questions - 90 marks
(ii) Part-II: Mental & Reasoning Ability: 30 questions - 90 marks
(iii) Part-III: Arithmetic & Numerical Ability & Data Interpretation: 30 questions - 90 marks
(iv) Part-IV: General English & General Hindi: 30 questions - 90 marks
(v) Part-V: Basic Computer Knowledge: 30 questions - 90 marks
• TOTAL: 150 questions - 450 marks
• Total Time: 3 hours
• Negative Marking: One-third (-1 marks)
• Ratio for shortlisting for Tier-2: 1:10 (10 times the vacancy).
B. Tier-2: Objective type (OMR Based) & Descriptive (Written) Examination:

(i) In this stage, your typing skills will be tested.
(ii) Typing Test: 350 words (English) or 300 words (Hindi) to be typed on the computer in 10 minutes.
(iii) Candidates can give this test in either English or Hindi (as opted by the candidate in Application).
(iv) Maximum Mistakes Allowed: 7% (10% for reserved categories).
(v) This typing test will be only qualifying in nature.
FINAL SELECTION:
The final selection of candidates for Superintendent post, will be done on the basis of marks scored in the Tier-2 Objective & Descriptive Test. Candidates higher in merit will be selected for this post.
