The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is a 'Schedule-A' Mini Ratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the ownership of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. Its primary responsibility is administration, upgradation and maintenance of civil aviation infrastructure in India.
Now, AAI has released notification for direct recruitment of Junior Assistant (Fire Service) in Eastern Region. Here in this blog, I have explained all the details related to this recruitment notification.

VACANCY:
A total of 89 posts have been notified, which is distributed as follows:
(i) UR/General: 45 vacancies
(ii) EWS: 08 vacancies
(iii) OBC: 14 vacancies
(iv) SC: 10 vacancies

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (as on 01/11/2024):
(i) 10th pass with 3 year Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile/Fire, OR,
(ii) 12th pass in any stream.
DRIVING LICENSE (cutoff date 01/11/2024):
(i) Valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) License before cutoff date.
(ii) Valid Medium Motor Vehicle (MMV) License, at least one year before cutoff date.
(iii) Valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) License, at least two years before cutoff date.
NOTE: In case of MMV & LMV, the incumbents will be required to acquire Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) Driving License before completion of their probation period (within one year of appointment).
AGE LIMIT (as on 01/11/2024):
• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 30 years
• Age relaxation will be given to:
(i) OBC-NCL: 03 years
(ii) SC/ST: 05 years
(iii) Ex-servicemen: 3 years (after deducting no. of years of military service)
(iv) Candidates in regular service of AAI (UR/EWS): 10 years
(v) Candidates in regular service of AAI (OBC-NCL): 13 years
(vi) Candidates in regular service of AAI (SC/ST): 15 years
(vii) Ex-Agniveers: 03 years (05 years for 1st batch).
(viii) Widowed/Divorced Women (UR/EWS): up to 35 years

PHYSICAL STANDARD:
1. EYES:
(i) Distant Vision: 6/6 in both eyes (without glasses)
(ii) Near Vision: N-5 in both eyes (without glasses)
(iii) No Colour Blindness
(iv) No Night Blindness
(v) No Refractive Error
2. HEARING & SPEECH:
Must have Normal Hearing and Speech Capacity. It means no hearing and speech disorders.
3. HEIGHT:
(i) Men: minimum 167 cm
(ii) Women: minimum 157 cm
4. CHEST (only for Male):
(i) Unexpanded/Normal: 81 cms
(ii) Minimum Expansion: 05 cms
5. WEIGHT:
(i) Men: minimum 55 kg.
(ii) Women: minimum 45 kg.
6. PHYSICAL DEFORMITY:
There must be no physical deformity like Knock Knee, Bow Legs, Degree of Squint, Flat Foot, suffering from chronic disease, any major operations by virtue of which his/her physical fitness has been impaired.
SALARY:
• During Training,
Monthly Stipend: ₹25,000
(Duration of Training: 04 months)
• After Training,
Pay Level: NE-4 level
Pay Scale: ₹31,000-3%-92,000
Basic Pay: ₹31,000
Gross Annual CTC: ₹13.2 lakhs approx.
SERVICE BOND:
1. During Training:
All candidates will have to undergo Basic Training in AAI Training Institutes, for a minimum duration of 4 months. If a candidate leaves during the training, he/she will have to pay bond amount according to the following criterias:
(i) Upto 1 month: ₹0 (NIL)
(ii) Beyond 1 month to 2 months: ₹50,000
(iii) Beyond 2 months to 3 months: ₹75,000
(iv) Beyond 3 months to completion of training: ₹1,00,000
2. After Training:
After completion of training, you'll be absorbed as Junior Assistant (Fire Service) in NE-4 level in AAI. After this, if you want to leave, you'll have to pay bond amount according to the following criterias:
(i) Upto 1 year (after training): ₹3,00,000
(ii) Beyond 1 year to 2 years: ₹2,00,000
(iii) Beyond 2 years to 3 years: ₹1,00,000
(iv) Beyond 3 years: ₹0 (NIL)
SELECTION PROCESS:
A. Stage-1: Written Exam (Computer Based Test):
• It will have two parts:
(i) Part A: 50% questions on subjects relating to Educational Qualification.
(ii) Part B: 50% Questions on General Knowledge, General Intelligence, General Aptitude, English etc.
• Total Marks: 100
• Duration: Two (2) hours
• Minimum pass marks:
(i) 50% for UR/EWS/OBC candidates.
(ii) 40% for SC/ST candidates.
B. Stage-2: Physical Test:
It will contain the following stages:
1. Document Verification
2. Physical Measurement Test/Medical Test.
3. Driving Test (in Light Motor Vehicle).
4. Physical Endurance Test (PET).
• In this Physical Test, three stages are only qualifying in nature. But the PET stage will also be counted for making the merit list.
• Physical Endurance Test (PET) will contain the following tests:
(i) 100 m Running
(ii) Casualty Carrying Test (Lifting and carrying sand bag to 50 meters).
(iii) Pole Climbing
(iv) Rope Climbing
(v) Ladder Climbing and descending.
• Each test carries maximum 20 marks. So overall, PET is of maximum 100 marks.
FINAL SELECTION:
Final Selection will be done on the basis of marks scored in both Written Test (CBT) and Physical Endurance Test (PET).
