This Group consists of the following posts:
(i) Librarian Grade III (pay level-6) (Group-B)
(ii) Library & Information Assistant (pay level-6) (Group-B)
All the posts of this group will have the same exam pattern & merit list, based on which you'll be shortlisted according to your marks and post preference.
VACANCY (in Group-45):
1. Librarian Grade III: 05 vacancies
(UR: 04, EWS: 00, OBC: 01, SC: 00, ST: 00)
2. Library & Information Assistant: 10 vacancies
(UR: 09, EWS: 00, OBC: 00, SC: 01, ST: 00)
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (as on 31/01/2025):
(i) Bachelor Degree in Library and Information Science (BLIS) or equivalent from a UGC recognised University/Institution; AND,
(ii) 2 years Professional experience in a Library under Central/State/Autunomous/Statutory Organization/PSU/University or recognized research and education institution.
AGE LIMIT (as on 31/01/2025):
• Minimum: 21 years
• Maximum: 30 years
• Age relaxation in the Upper Age Limit will be provided to:
(i) OBC-NCL: 03 years
(ii) SC/ST: 05 years
(iii) PwBD: 10 years (category wise)
(iv) Ex-servicemen: 03 years (after deduction of military service)
(v) Central Civilian Employees (for Group-B): 05 years (category wise)
(vi) Central Civilian Employees (for Group-C): up to 40 years (43 for OBC, 45 for SC/ST)
(vii) Candidates Domicile in J&K (for Group-C): 05 years (category wise)

SALARY (pay level-6):
• Pay Level: level-6
• Pay Band: 9300-34800
• Grade Pay: 4200
• Basic Pay: ₹35,400
• Dearness Allowance: 53%
• House Rent Allowance (X-city): 30%
• Travelling Allowance(X-city): ₹3600 + DA (53%)
• Deductions: NPS, Income Tax, Professional Tax, etc.
• Gross Salary: ₹72,000 approx.
• NET (In-hand) Salary: ₹62,500 approx.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Selection to the service will be done in only one stage, which is Computer Based Test (CBT).
• Computer Based Test (CBT) will be of 90 minutes duration.
• It will have 100 questions (MCQs)
• Each correct answer will give you +4 marks
• Total Marks will be 400 marks
• These questions will be distributed as follows:
(i) General Knowledge & Aptitude: 25 questions
(ii) Domain Specific Knowledge: 75 questions
(iii) All these 100 questions will be mixed, and divided in five sections, each containing 20 questions, and each section will be of 18 minutes duration.
(iv) After completion of time of one section, the other section will come on your screen, and you can neither go back to the previous section nor to the next section, till completion of time of that section (18 minutes).
(v) Negative Marking: One-fourth (-1 marks)
(vi) Qualifying marks: 40% (35% for OBC, 30% for SC/ST/PH).
