EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (as on 31.12.2024):

AGE LIMIT (as on 01.04.2024):

Maximum Age: 28 years
The upper age limit will be relaxed as under:

4. Ex-Serviceman/Disabled Ex-Serviceman: Actual period of service rendered in the defense forces + 3 years (subject to a maximum of 45 years).

SALARY of SBI Clerk:
• Scale of Pay: ₹24050-1340/3-28070-1650/3-33020-2000/4-41020-2340/7-57400-4400/1-61800-2680/1-64480
• Basic Pay: ₹26,730 (₹24050 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates).
• Allowances: DA, LCA, HRA, Grade Allowance, etc
• Gross Salary: ₹46,000 approx (in Metro City).
• NET (In-hand salary): ₹40,000 approx.
• Perquisites: Medical Reimbursement, Interest free Festival Advance, Leave Travel Concession, Loans and Advances at concessional rates of interest for Housing, Vehicle, Education, Consumer Articles, Personal Computer, etc.
PROBATION PERIOD: Minimum 6 months.
NOTE: Before the probation period comes to an end the performance of the newly recruited employees will be evaluated and the probation period of those employees whose performance fails to meet the Company‘s expectation, may be extended.
JOB PROFILE of SBI Clerk:
1. Managing cash flow of the bank, by receiving cash (deposit) or paying out cash (withdrawal) to the customers.
2. Ensuring the compliance of KYC (Know Your Customer) for all new account holders in the Bank.
3. Opening of new Savings/Current/Loan Accounts, and filling loan information.
4. Monitoring Non Performing Assets (NPA).
5. Answering queries of customers, by working as a Single Window Operator for the convenience of customers.
6. Suggesting other products/services of banks to customers (like Insurance, Fixed Deposits, Mutual Funds, Debit Cards, Credit Cards, etc.)
7. Completing any other responsibility/work assigned by the branch manager.
PROMOTION:
Promotion of SBI Clerk takes place in the following order:
1. Junior Associate (on joining)
2. Trainee Officer/Assistant Manager
3. Deputy Manager
4. Manager
5. Chief Manager
6. Assistant General Manager
7. Deputy General Manager
(After this, Junior Associates retire).
• For promotion from Junior Assistant, it is mandatory to clear internal examination.
To be eligible for this internal exam, there are two routes:
(i) Normal Route: You become eligible after 6 years of service.
(ii) Fast Track mode: If you clear JAIIB, you are eligible after 4 years only. But if you clear both JAIIB and CAIIB exams, you are eligible after 3 years only.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (Online):
This phase contains questions from the following:
(i) English Language - 30 questions - 30 marks - 20 minutes
(ii) Reasoning Ability - 35 questions - 35 marks - 20 minutes
(iii) Numerical Ability - 35 questions - 35 marks - 20 minutes
• Mode of Exam: Computer Based Test (CBT)
• Type of Paper: Objective (MCQ type)
• Total Questions: 100 questions
• Total Marks: 100 marks
• Total Time: 60 minutes
• Negative Marking: One-fourth (-1/4th)
• Candidates equal to 10 times the vacancy will be shortlisted for the Phase-II (Mains) Exam.
Phase-II: Main Examination (Online):
This phase contains questions from the following:
(i) General/Financial Awareness - 50 questions - 50 marks - 35 minutes
(ii) General English - 40 questions - 40 marks - 35 minutes
(iii) Quantitative Aptitude - 50 questions - 50 marks - 45 minutes
(iv) Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude - 50 questions - 60 marks - 45 minutes
• Mode of Exam: Computer Based Test (CBT)
• Type of Paper: Objective (MCQ type)
• Total Questions: 190 questions
• Total Marks: 200 marks
• Total Time: 160 minutes (2 hr 40 min)
• Negative Marking: One-fourth (-1/4th)
• Candidates equal to the vacancy will be shortlisted for the Regional Language Test.
REGIONAL LANGUAGE TEST:
The Regional Language Test will be of qualifying nature only. No Scores will be allotted for the same.
Candidates' proficiency (read, write and speak) will be checked in any one respective state languages (from where they have applied).
FINAL SELECTION:
After qualifying the regional language test, final selection to the service will be made on the basis of marks scored in Phase-II (Mains) Exam.
WAIT LIST:
• A wait list of up to 50% of vacancies (State-category wise) will be maintained.
• Candidates will be released from this waitlist on a quarterly basis against non-joining and resignation out of the current batch only.
• This wait list will be valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of final result.
